About

Benjamin Goldberger

I am an indie developer. I build small software products, put them online, and run them myself.

That means the whole job, not the fun part of it. The code, yes, but also the pricing page, the refund emails, the analytics that say nobody came, and the slow work of figuring out why. I like that the loop is short and that nothing gets decided by a committee.

The work splits roughly in two. Some of it is meant to earn: an AI coaching bot on subscription, a QR generator sold once instead of rented forever, a print shop attached to a content site. The rest exists because I wanted it to exist, which is its own good reason. A reverse image search tool with an EXIF parser I wrote from scratch, mostly to find out whether I could.

How I work

Small, cheap to run, and finished. I would rather ship a narrow thing that works than keep a broad thing at ninety percent forever. Most of what I make is a static site and a small backend, hosted for a few dollars a month, and that constraint has made the work better rather than worse.

I use AI heavily and say so plainly. It changed which part of the job is hard: the typing got cheap, and deciding what is actually true got expensive. So I spend the time on the data model, the requirements, and checking the claims, because those are the parts a model still does badly.
